John Reilly has been doing radio for over 25 years. He was the voice of WBCN, Boston’s heritage rocker, for almost 20 and now can be heard on stations from coast to coast… in Los Angeles, Dallas, New Jersey, New Mexico, Detroit…And Reilly continues to bring his trademark radio imaging to a new audience of rabid Boston sports fans on 98’5 The Sports Hub! CBS Radio called on him to image the launch of the Free FM format as well as numerous sports stations throughout the company. And if you want to talk commercials, he recently voiced spots for Sprint, Honda, Dollywood, and continues to lend his talents to numerous Auto Dealer Groups around the country. In 1995 John’s production savvy and distinctive style won him Infinity Broadcasting’s, first Radio Mercury Award, for creating the commercial that launched the NANTUCKET NECTAR JUICE GUYS ad campaign. He earned a “Brassie Award for a series of commercials for the Bank of America Golf Championship. John was also fortunate to do one of the last radio interviews with cartoon voice legend, Mel Blanc, for which he won an AP award for Best Feature Story. Reilly first broadcast in Boston in 1983 at WFNX. From there, John moved on to be Creative Director at WAAF. Russ Mottla then hired him as Production Director at 98 Rock in Baltimore where he was part of the team that took the station from a 3.4 to a 7.2 in the ratings, in just 2 years. In 1990, legendary Program Director, Oedipus, chose John to be the new Production Director and voice for one of the country’s premier, heritage rock stations, WBCN, John’s trademark is his cutting edge voice, production and fresh approach to creating progressive radio imaging and commercials.
