BURBANK, CA, March 24, 2015— Quickly approaching the 100-station mark, Benztown’s internationally syndicated Sunday Night Slow Jams and weeknight Slow Jams show recently added five new members to its “Slow Jams Army.”
Mark Wilson has signed on to Slow Jams as Vice President of Affiliate Relations-East. Mark is a former record executive and was also Vice President of Affiliate Sales for Westwood One. Joining him on the Slow Jams Affiliate Relations team is programming veteran and radio consultant John Christian, who was named Slow Jams’ Vice President of Affiliate Relations-West. Mark and John will work alongside Benztown’s Affiliate Relations group to expand the reach of Sunday Night Slow Jams.
On the production side, the show welcomes Ryan Cota as Executive Producer of Sunday Night Slow Jams. Ryan brings over 20 years of imaging and production experience to Sunday Night Slow Jams, including over 15 years as Imaging Director of iHeart Radio Arizona and Lead Producer at Red Rock Creative Services. Joining Ryan in the production department is new hire Jessica Chavez, who will serve as Assistant Producer and Content Manager. Jessica was most recently Production Director under R Dub! at Z90 and Magic 92.5, the San Diego radio stations R Dub! programs.
As Sunday Night Slow Jams expands its digital offerings to affiliates, the show enlists the services of Tracy Johnson and The Tracy Johnson Media Group who will be working to grow the show’s digital platform. R Dub!, Sunday Night Slow Jams Host and President of Fusion Radio Networks, said: “For over a decade, I’ve attempted to ‘do it all myself,’ but thanks to Benztown and the incredible growth of the shows, it’s come to a point where I must expand the staff. I’m happy to be bringing on some of the best people in the business—who not only know and love radio, but who have a deep understanding of Sunday Night Slow Jams, our stations and listeners. I’m excited about what we will be achieving together to grow the show and to continue to create a one-of-a-kind appointment listening experience in every market we serve.”
In addition to the classic Rhythmic version, Sunday Night Slow Jams also offers a Top 40-Mainstream version of the show and just launched two other versions of the program: A “Throwback” edition and “Content Only” version of the show. Along with the weeknight version of Sunday Night Slow Jams and R Dub!’s All-Slow Jams iHeart Radio Channel, Slow Jams currently reaches over three million consumers per week.
Sunday Night Slow Jams features the hottest love songs from today and back in the day, and specialize in playing tracks that take listeners back, with special dedications that drive home the emotional impact of the show. Usher, Drake, Rihanna, Boyz II Men, Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake and more can all be heard on Sunday Night Slow Jams, and the weeknight version, Slow Jams. R Dub! created Sunday Night Slow Jams in 1994 at the age of 17, at a tiny AM radio station in the middle of the Tucson desert.
