Show Transports Country Music Fans Back to the ‘90’s with Garth, Reba, Clint, George, and More
FEBRUARY 25, 2013, BURBANK, CA—Benztown Radio Networks today announced the launch of Country Radio’s newest syndicated show, Round Trip Country, a two-hour weekly show that re-visits country music in the 1990’s. WKDF’s Becca, the longest-running country radio personality in Nashville and co-host of television’s The Country Vibe with Chuck and Becca, hosts the show and will appear at Country Radio’s biggest annual industry event this week, Country Radio Seminar (CRS) in Nashville. Round Trip Country is produced by Dan Holiday Productions and is syndicated by Benztown.
Round Trip Country takes a novel approach to playing some of Country Radio’s biggest hits. Each week, Becca plays music from 90’s icons including George Strait, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Alan Jackson, Clint Black, Brooks & Dunn and more. Round Trip Country also interacts with listeners online and toll-free at 855-895-TRIP, and country music fans can request their favorite ‘90’s country hits, submit questions for the stars, and win real Round Trip airline tickets. Round Trip Country debuts in five markets, including Kansas City on KFKF, and in Jonesboro, AR, on KDXY.
Becca said: “The engines are revving and we’re excited for Round Trip Country to take off! It’s a thrill to be able to take our listeners back to some of Country Music’s best days, the ‘90’s, where larger-than-life country superstars like George Strait, Reba McEntire, Clint Black and Brooks & Dunn moved Country Music and Country Radio in a new direction, creating some of Country’s greatest music. It’s a really fun, novel, and high-energy concept for a radio show—and now, 20 years later, it’s an idea whose time has come!”
Dan Holiday, President of Dan Holiday Productions, said: “Round Trip Country is already on the air in five markets, and with Nashville’s veteran Country Radio personality and Country Music insider, Becca, as in-flight hostess, our flights to ‘90’s Country Music will fill up fast! The ‘90’s were a tremendously vibrant time in Country Radio, when the music of these artists attracted new fans to the genre and re-ignited the passion of die hard Country Music lovers. Those days are indelible in our minds and Round Trip Country gives us all a chance to go back and experience it again. We’re incredibly excited about this show and know today’s Country Music fans will love it, too.”
